Six Services, One Standard of Care

Angela Reptile Kingdom LLC operates a reptile retail and husbandry room at 1238 W 430 S in Provo, Utah. Our services fall into six practical groups, and every one of them begins with the same question: what does this animal actually need? We breed and place captive-bred animals, we build the habitats they live in, we keep their food coming, and we stay available after the sale. Below is a full description of each service, followed by how a typical engagement with us unfolds.

GECKO 01

Captive-Bred Geckos and Lizards

Our gecko program is built on captive breeding, not import. Leopard geckos, crested geckos, African fat-tailed geckos and a rotating selection of day geckos make up the core of the shelves, and each animal is raised in the same room where it will be described to you. Because we control the conditions, we can tell you the incubation temperature, the hatch date, the feeding history and the exact supplement rotation that produced the animal in front of you. Captive-bred geckos are calmer, parasite-free and far more predictable than wild-caught stock, which matters enormously to a first-time keeper.

We separate desert species from tropical species in both care and conversation. A leopard gecko wants a dry enclosure with a warm belly-heat mat and a humid hide for shedding. A crested gecko wants an arboreal setup, moderate temperatures and higher humidity, and it will happily eat a prepared diet alongside insects. Getting those two categories confused is the single most common mistake we see, so we spend time on it before any animal leaves the room. Each gecko leaves with a written care card, a feeding log and a follow-up invitation.

SNAKE 02

Colubrid and Boa Snakes

Our snake room carries corn snakes, king snakes, milk snakes, bull snakes and a carefully limited number of boa constrictors and ball pythons. Every animal is quarantined on arrival or after hatching, then sexed, weighed and placed on a feeding schedule that we record in a physical ledger. That ledger is not decoration. It lets us tell you the last three meal dates, the prey size accepted and whether the animal has completed a clean shed. For a new keeper, that history is worth more than any sales pitch.

We match temperament to household carefully. Colubrids such as corn snakes are forgiving, handle well and tolerate a range of beginner setups. Boas and ball pythons are equally rewarding but demand tighter control of temperature and humidity, and some individuals are shy eaters that require patience and privacy. We will tell you honestly when an animal is not the right fit for a busy household with children, and we will suggest an alternative. Tarantulas and Invertebrates

The invertebrate corner of the room is cooler, quieter and endlessly interesting. We stock beginner tarantulas such as the Chilean rose and the curly hair, advanced arboreal species for experienced keepers, plus scorpions, millipedes, isopods and seasonal mantises. Every enclosure is labeled with the species, its temperament, its humidity band and its rehousing notes. Invertebrates have a reputation for being difficult, and that reputation is almost entirely a ventilation and substrate problem. Get those two things right and most tarantulas are among the easiest animals in the hobby to keep.

We explain why a tarantula does not need a heat lamp, why a water dish beats misting for most terrestrial species, and why substrate depth matters more than enclosure width for a burrowing animal. For keepers who want a breeding project, we can discuss sexing, pairing and sling rearing. For keepers who simply want a striking display animal that needs feeding once a week, we can point to the species that fit that life. Clean-up crews such as springtails and isopods are available alongside the display animals, because a bioactive setup is easier to maintain than most people expect.

BUILD 04

Complete Vivarium Setups

A complete vivarium setup from Angela Reptile Kingdom LLC is a finished habitat, not a shopping list. We start with the species and work backward. That means a drainage layer sized to the enclosure, a substrate mixed for the humidity the animal needs, cork tubes and hides placed to create a real thermal gradient, a water feature only where it belongs, and a thermostat-controlled heat source with the dial position recorded on a setup card. The mesh lid is chosen for ventilation, and we check the whole assembly for escapes before it leaves the bench.

We build for desert, tropical, arboreal and bioactive configurations, and we are honest about when a customer is overbuilding. Adding a waterfall to a leopard gecko enclosure does not improve the animal life, and we will say so. Each setup includes the enclosure, the lid, the heat source, the thermostat, the substrate, the hides and the initial decoration, all tested together so there are no surprises on the first night. You receive a setup card listing every component, the target temperature gradient, the humidity range and the maintenance rhythm, plus an invitation to a coaching session so the first week goes smoothly.

FEED 05

Feeder Insect Subscriptions

Feeder insect subscriptions remove the least enjoyable part of reptile keeping: the weekly scramble to find live food of the right size. We offer live crickets, mealworms, superworms, dubia roaches, hornworms and calci-worms on a repeating schedule. You choose the insects, the quantity and the frequency, and we gut-load before dispatch and pack with the correct moisture source so the insects arrive alive, active and nutritionally useful. Local keepers can collect at the Provo room, and we can ship where regulations allow.

Subscriptions are sized to the collection, from a single gecko to a multi-species room. We adjust quantities as animals grow, because the difference between a juvenile and an adult feeding schedule is substantial. We also stock dusting supplements and gut-load diets, and we will show you the rotation that prevents the calcium deficiency problems we see most often. A subscription is not a lock-in; you can pause it for brumation, skip a delivery, or change the mix at any time. The goal is simple, which is that feeding day stops being a chore and becomes part of a predictable routine.

CARE 06

Health Checks and Husbandry Coaching

Health checks are scheduled appointments where you bring the animal and your setup questions. We assess body condition, hydration, shedding history, enclosure parameters and feeding response. We are not a veterinary practice and we do not diagnose or treat disease, but we do catch the small husbandry errors that become expensive veterinary problems: a thermostat running hot, a water bowl in a corner the animal never visits, a supplement missing from the dusting rotation, a hide too large for a nervous juvenile. Where an animal needs medical attention, we will tell you plainly and refer you to a licensed exotics veterinarian.

Husbandry coaching is the broader service, and it is available before you buy the animal as well as after. In a session we cover thermal gradients, humidity management, lighting cycles, feeding schedules, safe handling, quarantine procedure for new arrivals and record keeping. New keepers usually need one or two sessions to reach confidence. Experienced keepers often use coaching for a specific project such as moving into bioactive setups or starting a breeding pair. Sessions run at the Provo room and can be combined with a setup build so the coaching happens in the exact habitat the animal will live in.

How Working With Us Unfolds

Conversation and Fit

We start with your experience level, your room temperatures, your space and your budget. The right animal for your home is often not the one you arrived wanting, and we say so early rather than after the sale.

Habitat Plan

We specify the enclosure, substrate, heat source, thermostat and hides as one system. If you are building with us, this becomes a complete vivarium setup. If you are upgrading, we review what you already own and reuse what genuinely works.

Animal Selection

You meet the animals, watch a feeding response where practical, and review the care card and ledger history. We hold an animal for seven days if it needs observation, and we will always prefer a delay over a doubtful placement.

Setup and Coaching

We assemble or verify the habitat, set the thermostat, record the dial position and walk you through the first week. A coaching session covers feeding, handling, shedding and what to watch for in the first month.
